I’ll tell you how to be a good speaker of English!
Elizabeth Foreign Language Institute has developed the "Elizabeth Learning System" based on Napoleon Hill's "Philosophy of Success."
From preschoolers to the elderly, anyone can become proficient in speaking English using this methodology. Let me share a glimpse of the approach.
Firstly, consider how we learned to speak Japanese. We didn't start by studying grammar or kanji but by listening to a lot of Japanese. Through exposure, we naturally began speaking Japanese without consciously learning. Of course, since we live in Japan, becoming fluent in languages like English, French, or Spanish as natives do is quite challenging.
Now, imagine yourself freely speaking English. Next, think about the words you already know that have become part of the Japanese language, such as "butter," "piano," or "violin." We already know many English words. Start by memorizing these words using flashcards. Practice speaking the word as soon as you see the flashcard. Then, try forming simple sentences like "I like dogs" using flashcards. Once you can effortlessly produce sentences without thinking, you've mastered English.
Let go of thoughts like "I'm not good at English" or "I can't speak English." Many Japanese people feel pressured to speak in complete sentences. Don't fear mistakes; confidently speak English. If forming sentences is challenging, start with simple phrases like "come here, please." Learn around 50 to 100 words in your surroundings in English and about 50 verbs. Understand the differences between Japanese and English grammar, create simple English sentences accordingly, and repeat the process. When you can effortlessly speak without hesitation, you've achieved fluency.
Being able to speak English varies from basic daily conversations to more complex scenarios like business or specialized discussions in economics or philosophy. Once you've mastered simple English sentences, expose yourself to a multitude of English sentences. Understanding the differences in grammar between Japanese and English is crucial from the beginning.
If you can't comprehend content in Japanese, you won't understand it in English either. It's natural. Before learning English, it's essential to thoroughly learn Japanese and expand your vocabulary. Elizabeth Foreign Language Institute is here to help you not only love English but also become proficient. Knock on our doors, and let's learn together.
